In December 2020 we opened our Hopfrog beer shop and taproom on the original site of the world famous Hornsea Pottery. To celebrate and honour the heritage of their great designs we launched a range of craft glasses with the iconic Heirloom and Saffron patterns and also the John Clappison cat.
The response to the glasses has been incredible and we have since launched further products and have become UK licensing agents for the design owners - Hornsea Potteries Intellectual Properties USA LLC.
Contact us if you wish to use any of the designs for your products.
Watch this space for a new Hornsea Pottery venue with a range of exciting Hornsea Pottery products incorporating, of course, Hopfrog and a few other interesting additions.
Hornsea Potteries was founded in 1949 by brothers Colin and Desmond Rawson. Driven by a wide array of design influences the pottery quickly grew from being a purveyor of seaside tourist trinkets to the largest studio pottery in the world, employing over 700 people. Hornsea’s rapid growth was generated by widespread popularity and inspirational design. Located away from the traditional ceramics heartland in Staffordshire, Hornsea developed unique and groundbreaking techniques and designs many of which were influenced by the Rawson’s textile backgrounds.
Hornsea is a great British design story involving some of the giants of British pattern and ceramic design. Today, Hornsea remains a much loved and influential brand, with a timeless appeal.
